St. Paul’s Plans Summer Youth Events

St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Summer Church Services are scheduled at 9 am.

During the summer, St. Paul’s made the decision to go to one service at 9 a. m. Pastor Kaufman will also be conducting services at St. John’s, St. John’s every Sunday at 10:30 a. m. If 9 a. m. is a little early, you are welcome to worship at St. John’s at the later time. Just place your envelope in the plate and it will go to the respective church. The same invitation will be extended to the members of St. John’s.

Summer Office Hours are Monday, Wednesday and Fridays from 8:30 to 12:30 pm

Communion will be offered July 30th.

Bible Study continues every Thursday afternoon at 1 p. m. as we return to explore the Book of Romans. Our conversations are lively and engaging. Consider joining us some Thursday!

Making Sense of the Shack movie follow-up on the shack. In June, we gathered to watch, The Shack, a film that took us on a father’s uplifting spiritual journey. You are invited back to talk about what we read and what we saw. What can we learn? What message does it have for us today? Join us Wednesday, July 26th at 6:30 p. m. Snacks and goodies will be provided!

July 21-Explore Philadelphia, visiting Independence Hall, the US Mint….who knows what else we may do!

July 26-Red Deer Farm and Knoebels (Bargain Night)

July 30-Bushkill Falls

Week of August 1-4 I would like the kids to cook for VISION

August 5th-Renaissance Faire (Opening Day-Kids are free/adults reduced rate!)

August 25th-Railriders Game

VISION (today known as Mother Teresa’s Haven) is scheduled to be at St. Paul’s at the end of July, beginning July 31st-August 6th. Church Council has agreed to offer hot dogs and hamburgers on Sunday evening before their regularly scheduled meeting. We are looking for various groups or individuals to provide a meal throughout the week. A sign-up sheet can be found on the bulletin board. Please consider supporting this worthwhile ministry.

Yarn Spinners will continue to work on the prayer shawls and baptismal blankets for Pastor. If any of you are talented in crocheting or knitting, or would like to learn, they cordially invite you to join them. Lessons will be instructed by Lois. If you can’t make their meetings, please call Lois Burge at 474-5502, and volunteer your talents by making the items at your own pace at home. All would be most appreciative.

Please remember that the first Sunday of each month has been declared “Food Bank Day” and we ask that members remember those less fortunate by bringing nonperishable food items in order to keep up with the demand for food. Items needed are: coffee, peanut butter, jelly, ketchup, dry soup, pudding and Jell-O mixes, and popcorn, pork & beans, canned tomatoes, canned soup, mustard, mayonnaise, tuna, macaroni & cheese and pasta (ex. Spaghetti), peas, canned pasta, and noodles.

Stress and Anxiety Management meetings are every 2nd and last Tuesday of the month at 6:30pm; NA meetings are every Thursday at 6 pm; AA meetings are held every Wednesday and Friday at 7pm and Sundays at 7pm, and Weight Watchers every Wednesday at 6:15pm.
