ST. JUDE SIGN LANGUAGE CLUB PRESENTS PROGRAM-One of the extracurricular activities offered to the students at St. Jude School is the Sign Language club. Mrs. Ann Papciak, certified teacher of the hearing impaired, serves as moderator, and prepared the students for end-of-the-year programs for the student body, family and friends. The students learn American Sign Language including numbers, the alphabet, extensive vocabulary, and the mechanics of ASL. They also study the importance of the differences between spoken English and ASL. The students integrated vocabulary they learned throughout the year into musical interpretation in religious and secular music for this presentation. The program opened with the club’s signature song “Firework”. Eighth grader Ashleigh Button performed a solo to “This Time”. Other selections included “True Colors”, “I Lift My Hands”, and “Seasons of Love”.
