A Farmers Market sponsored by the Mountain Top Rotary is held every Sunday from 9 a. m. to 1 p. m. at the Crestwood High School, Route 309, until October 29, 2017. The market features fresh local vegetables, fruits, herbs, honey, eggs, hot sauces, baked goods, confection treats, a Caribbean food truck and gourmet dog treats for your fur babies. The Mountain Top Garden Club will meet on Tuesday, July 11th at 6:30 p. m. at the Rice Township municipal building. The speaker will be John Scott from the Fishing Creek Herb Guild. John will be giving an informative presentation about herbs and their uses in medicine, culinary arts, and home décor. This Garden Club meeting is open to the public and new members are always welcome! The membership fee is only $20 for the year. Mountaintop Area Little League is once again offering its very popular Fall Ball (Baseball & Softball) program, for boys and girls, ages 8 through 11. Age based on 2017 regular season. Kiwanis of Mountain Top is looking forward to a great summer for Movies in the Park. The first movie will be Secret Life of Pets (PG) on Saturday, July 22. The next movie to be announced will be on Saturday, August 19. As always, the movies and popcorn are free! Other refreshments will be available. Movies will begin at dusk at the Wright Twp. Registrations are being held for the Wright Township Summer Park Program which is in session now through July 28, 2017. The program is held every Monday through Friday from 10 a. m. to 2 p. m. for children 6 to 12. Activities are held in the park that has a baseball fields, basketball and tennis courts, soccer/lacrosse fields, a volleyball court, splash pad, tot lot, walking trail, a plaza and picnic pavilion. The program consists of games, arts and crafts, nature walks, staying cool with water games and teamed competitions in color wars for prizes.
