Throughout many years of ministry, I witnessed too many believers walk away from their faith,” says novelist Jo Piazza O’Mara. O’Mara is the author of the newly released Songs in the Night, a sequel to Garden of Hope (both Redemption Press). She adds, “It is my desire to reassure Christians that, even when faced with the most difficult situations, they are empowered by the Holy Spirit to stand victorious in their faith.”
Songs in the Night continues to follow the lives of the gregarious, fun-loving Agosti family. Joe, now the patriarch of the family, leads his sisters Trina and Angie and their children as they weather multiple trials—trials that test the family’s faith and their close bond. The family is shaken to the core when accusations of a serious crime are made, a mysterious ring is discovered, and a horrific accident occurs.
Jo O’Mara who holds degrees in information system technology and health care management turned her attention to writing Christian fiction after retiring as director of admissions for a large retirement community. A pastor’s wife, she has ministered alongside her husband in churches in Pennsylvania for over thirty-five years.
The two books in this series are set in her hometown of Lawrence, Massachusetts.
She hopes her readers, from age sixteen through adult, will be encouraged in their faith that allows them to prevail. “Despite everyday struggles and trials, an even stronger family bond can arise from the ashes of conflict,” O’Mara says.
