St. Jude’s ParishAnnounces Temporary Liturgy Schedule

Due to the final stages of construction of the new church the following temporary changes will be in effect from Monday, June 19 until further notice:

Saturday and Sunday Masses at St. Jude will be in the school gym following the regular weekend schedule.

There will be only one daily Mass at St. Mary’s with a St. Jude intention and a St. Mary intention. The Church provides for two intentions at one Mass for emergency pastoral reasons and short period of time. This will enable the parish to not fall behind on daily Mass intentions.

All funerals, weddings, and baptisms will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church during this time.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation will be celebrated at 4:30 p. m. at St. Mary’s or by appointment.

While Mass is being held in the gym, there will not be 3 p. m. confessions at St. Jude.

St. Jude Adoration Chapel will be closed until the new church is dedicated. The chapel will close on Sunday, June 18 after the noon Mass. The new chapel will open immediately following the Dedication Mass. The new hours will be 6 a. m. until 8 p. m. The last hour will conclude at 9 p. m. every day.

Gift cards may be picked up or purchased at the table in the hallway outside the main entrance to the gym, as usual, around the Sunday Masses.

The time for St. Jude’s Vacation Bible School is fast approaching. A few more supplies are needed: rectangular rainbow-colored plastic tablecloths, colorful socks, large pom poms, small hearts, colorful straws, colored duct tape, aluminum foil, pipe cleaners, double sided tape, buttons, milk/juice caps, clean tin cans, and small size nuts/bolts/ screws. Donations may be dropped off at the Parish Office for Carrie Grandzol. Your generosity is greatly appreciated!

Children’s choir rehearsals for the Dedication Mass will begin Tuesday, June 20 from 4 p. m. until 5 p. m. in the school music room. A summer schedule will be given out at the first rehearsal, but most rehearsals will take place on Tuesdays at 4 p. m. Children in grades three through seven are invited to take part.

The “Light the Fire” Youth Rally will be held June 28 at Misericordia University in Dallas. Registrations opens at 9 a. m. Closing Mass is at 7 p. m. This is a high-energy day filled with a variety of workshops, awesome music, adoration, reconciliation, new friends, and an amazing closing Mass with Bishop Bambera. Music will be by Full Armor Band. The keynote speaker is Noelle Garcia. Registration for “Light the Fire” is due June 25. No exceptions! Call Pam Urbanski at the Parish Office or visit online at www.Light-the-Fire.org.

Mother Teresa Haven, the homeless men of Wyoming Valley, will be guests of the parish from June 26 until July 3. The help of parishioners is needed to feed these hungry men. The menus are on the walls in the main part of the church for sign up. Volunteers are also needed to serve each night. Call the Parish Office with any questions.

Parish Office hours are Monday and Wednesday from 9 a. m. until 3:30 pm; Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a. m. until 1 p. m; closed on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The parish website is www.stjc.org.For further information, call the Parish Office at 570-474-6315.
