St. Jude’s International Fest June 3 & 4

Everyone is invited to mark their calendars for the International Fest to be held Saturday, June 3 from 4 p. m. until 11 pm. and Sunday, June 4 from noon until 9 p. m.

A Polynesian Pig Roast will be featured including freshly roasted pig, potato salad, fresh pineapple, and artisan roll. Limited quantity available.

The menu will have ethnic foods from Mexico, Ireland, Poland, England, Greece, United States, Italy, Argentina, Russia, Cuba, and Germany. Also international desserts and beverages including beer and wine.

The Grand Prize Raffle is the winner’s choice of the following: a 7-day trip for two to Ireland, an 8-day trip for two to Italy, an 8-day cruise for two thru Venice and Greece, Create Your Dream Vacation ($5,000value) or $5,000 cash.

Those attending the International Fest are invited to bring nonperishable food items and canned goods to donate to the Mountain Top Food Bank. There will be a table at the entrance of the grove for your donations.

Parishioners are invited to come out and lend their voices to the beautiful celebration which is being planned for the dedication of the new church. This is a unique opportunity to participate in something very special. Anyone in grade 8 through adult is welcome. A few rehearsals will also take place in the summer months. Parishioners are invited to join the Social Action Committee at St. Vincent de Paul Soup Kitchen in Wilkes-Barre on Thursday, June 1 from 9 a. m. until 1 p. m. Carpools leave from the Parish Office at 8:45 a. m. Call Jody or Artie at 570-710-0137.

Vacation Bible School at St. Jude’s will run June 19 through June 23 from 9 a. m. until noon each day. The registration deadline for students is June 5. Students from three years old to fifth grade are welcome. The registration deadline for volunteers is June 5. Forms for students and volunteers are available at www.stjc.orgunder the Education tab. Parishioners are asked to please consider helping out. Many adults are needed in a variety of areas

The Sisters of Christian Charity invite all parishioners to a celebration of the 200th birthday of their foundress, Blessed Pauline von Mallinckrodt, on June 11 at 10:30 a. m. in St. Nicholas Church in Wilkes-Barre. Light refreshments will follow. Please call St. Nicholas Rectory at 570-823-7736 no later than June 5 if you plan to attend.

The following items era needed for the Mountain Top Food Bank: boxed soup mix instead of Ramen noodles, noodles, cream soups, baked beans, jelly, peanut butter, popcorn, canned fruit, tuna, mayonnaise, pudding, jello, sugar, and coffee. Weekday Masses at St. Jude’s are Monday through Friday at 7 a. m. and Wednesday at 12:10 p. m. Weekday Masses at St. Mary’s are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday at 8 a. m. Saturday Vigil Masses are 4 p. m. at St. Jude’s and 5:30 p. m. at St. Mary’s.

Sunday Masses are 7:30 a. m., 9 a. m., 10:30 a. m. and noon at St. Jude’s and 9 a. m. at St. Mary’s.
