St. Mary’s of Dorrance is a welcoming church. The pastor of St. Mary’s is Rev. Joseph Evanko, and Rev. Jeffrey Tudgay, Assistant Pastor. The weekend Mass schedule is Saturday at 5:30 p. m. and Sunday at 9 a. m.

The Altar & Rosary Society will not meet in June. The ladies are collecting items for a Kitchen Basket. Donations can be dropped off at the office or placed on the table in the meeting room across form the garage.

The Knights of Columbus are looking for a few good men! If you are interested in giving back to your church and community and having fun while doing it call John Baab 516-241-5297, or see him after Mass.

Father Jeff has scheduled Altar Server classes! All students who have received their First Holy Communion are invited to assist Father Joe and Father Jeff by serving at the Table of the Lord. Classes will be held on Thursday evenings, June 8 & 15, at 6:30, in the church. Please call the parish to sign up, however walk-ins are welcome. Families choose the Saturday or Sunday schedule.

June 28, 2017-Reminder: Light the Fire is considered the Eighth Grade Retreat! Cost $30 -$25 per student, $5 per youth group for Saint Mary’s students and chaperones. Papers are available from the office or in the vestibule of the church.

A variety of summer camps are being offered at St. Jude School this summer for ages 4 (by August 31) through grade 6.

Topics for ages 4 through 6-Diggin’ Dinosaurs, week of July 10 from 9 a. m. until noon

Under the Sea, week of July 17 from 9 a. m. until noon

Art with Authors, week of July 24 from 9 a. m. until noon

Science topics for grades 3 through 5-Up and Away, week of July 10 from 9 a. m. until noon

Gross Science, week of July 17 from 9 a. m. until noon

Ooey Gooey Science, week of July 17 from 1 p. m. until 4 p. m.

What’s the Matter, week of July 31 from 9 a. m. until noon

Topics for ages 7 through 9

On With the Show, week of July 24 from 9 a. m. until noon

Fun With Fiction, week of July 24 from 1 p. m. until 4 p. m.

Topic for incoming 5th and 6th graders-Around the World, week of July 10 from 9 a. m. until noon.

The cost for each camp is $100 per student. Siblings enrolled in a camp during the same week will be $75. Students are encouraged to bring a snack and wear play clothes. Summer Mission Trip-Our students and adult chaperones will be traveling to Rainelle, WV to volunteer with Potomac Highlands Fuller Center for Housing. WV was devastated by floods in June 2016. Students entering seventh grade this fall and older are eligible. Date: July 23-29, 2017. Cost for Saint Mary’s students and chaperones $200. We also have a sponsor program. No student ever misses the trip due to restricted finances. Call the parish office for applications or more information. Two -2-Spaces left! All forms and payment due by June 1.

Mark your calendars for The Miracle of Christmas! The show will be at the Sight and Sound Theatre in Lancaster, PA, on Tuesday, November 14. The Cost, $125 adults and $70 children, includes the show, transportation, and dinner at Miller’s Smorgasbord. For more information call Julia 570-379-3034.
