Welcome Club Potluck Luncheon

Welcome Club Potluck Luncheon will be held Thursday, May 18th beginning at 12:00 pm at the Presbyterian Church of Mountain Top, 9 Chestnut St. Please bring your favorite dish to share. During this last luncheon, the Welcome Club will be distributing donations from the Night at the Races Fund Raising efforts to the M. S. Kirby Library, Mountain Top Food Pantry, and Candy’s Place-The Cancer Wellness Center as well as the awarding two lucky Crestwood High School seniors with scholarships in the amount of $1000 and $500.

Night at the Races

The American Legion Mountaintop Post 781 will have a Night at the Races on Friday, May 19. Doors open at 6 p. m. Post time is 7 p. m. You may purchase a horse for $10 from any legion member or at the post home. Please include your name and address, and name of horse. If your horse wins, you win $50. You also have free admission into the event if you are a horse owner , which entitles you to food, snacks, beer, soda. If you do not purchase a horse, admission is $5 at the door. Horses may be purchased on day of event but will not be listed in the program. Please support the Legion in its first Mountaintop Legion-wide event. All proceeds go for continuation of improvements to the building. Please stop by anytime with a member of the legion to enjoy the beautiful views of the new outdoor deck!

‘Strange Encounters’ Presentation

Stan Gordon, nationally known researcher of UFOs and Bigfoot, will be presenting on May 20 his program, “Strange Encounters in Pennsylvania”. There will be two seatings at the White Haven Area Community Library: one at 4:30 p. m. and one at 7 p. m. Tickets are $15 and are now on sale at the library. Seating is limited and no tickets will be sold at the door. For information call 570-443-8776.

Emmanuel UCC Turkey Supper

Emmanuel United Church of Christ will hold its family-style Turkey Supper on Saturday, May 20 from 3 to 7 p. m. The meal includes turkey, gravy, stuffing, mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, cranberry sauce, homemade pickled cabbage, bread, beverage, and dessert. Take Outs are available. Ticket prices are $10.00 for adults, $4.00 for children age 6 to 11; children 5 and under for free; or $10.00 for a well-portioned take-out. If you would like to reserve tickets for the meal, please call the Church Office at 570 868-5675. Tickets will be available for sale at the door. Emmanuel UCC is located at the end of Alberdeen Road in Dorrance Township, Mountain Top, across from Andy’s Gas Station

Presbyterian Church Pancake Breakfast

The Presbyterian Church of Mountain Top will hold a Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, May 20 from 8 a. m. to 12 noon. Menu includes pancakes, sausage, ham, eggs, coffee, etc. Cost for kids up to age 4 are free, ages 5 -11, $4 and 12 and older are $8. Tickets are available at the door.

Stack Fast Camp

A Stack Fast Camp will be held at Mountaintop Family Church June 19th-22nd from 9am to noon. This camp is for students who have completed grades 1 to 6 and like cup stacking. There will be indoor and outdoor games, snacks and lots of cup stacking! The camp is $45 if registered by May 21st. Lego Robotics Camp

A Lego Robotics Camp will be held June 19th-22nd from 9am-noon for students who will have completed grades 3-6. Children will construct robotic vehicles to go through an obstacle course and involves programming the computer and robotic sensors to make the robots move in the correct directions. This camp is limited to 18 students and students will be accepted upon receipt of their registration form and fee. The early bird registration fee is $55 if received by May 21st. Mountain Top Social Club

The next scheduled meeting of the Mountain Top Social Club will be May 23rd at the Sands Springs Country Club at 12 p. m. for our Mother’s Day, Father’s Day dinner. Future trips as follows: June 15th Rainbow Theater {Show Buying the Moose}, July13th Landmark Scenic Tour and Dinner. The trip to Villa Nova on May 15th was canceled due to low response.
