Antonio Pierri, 90, Mountain Top, died May 5, 2017, in Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Sala Consilina, Italy, he was the son of the late Nicola and Vicenza Puglia Pierri. Prior to retiring, Antonio worked in the maintenance department for the city of Paterson, N. J. He was a member of the St. Jude’s Church in Mountain Top.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were brothers, Vincenzo and Pasquale; and sisters, Maria and Teresa.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, the former Angela Calicchio; daughters, Vincenza DeRosa and husband, Salvatore and Carla Calabrese and husband, Pasquale all of Mountain Top; a brother, Giuseppe, Italy; grandchildren, Pasquale DeRosa and wife, Samantha; Franco Calabrese and wife, Maggie; Josephina DeRosa, Antonio DeRosa and wife, Janine; Mariangela Carannante and husband, Luigi; and Michangelo DeRosa; 13 great-grandchildren also survive with several nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held from McCune Funeral Home, 80 S. Mountain Blvd., Mountain Top. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in St. Jude’s Church. Entombment followed in Calvary Cemetery, Drums.
