Join the Penn State Master Gardeners for their annual Spring into Gardening workshop as they explore many different home gardening and landscaping topics.
Spring Into Gardening 2017 will be held Saturday, April 29th from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm
At Luzerne County Community College: Educational Conference Center, 1333 S Prospect St. Nanticoke.
Enjoy listening to Keynote Speaker and author Dr. Doug Tallamy, Professor and Chair Entomology and Wildlife Ecology at the University of Delaware, as he discusses Restoring Nature’s Relationships at Home. In 2007, Dr. Tallamy wrote, Bringing Nature Home: How Native Plants Sustain Wildlife in Our Gardens, and in 2014 he co-authored The Living Landscape: Designing for Beauty and Biodiversity in the Home Garden.”
Event participants will also participate in four workshops throughout the day, choosing from a variety of topics: Growing Apples & Peaches, What’s Bugging You?, Basic Veggie Gardening, Tree Diseases, Container Gardening, Native Plants, Lawn Care, and Rain Gardens.
