Crestwood began this week of competition with a record of 10-1 in the Wyoming Valley Conference Division I boys’ basketball standings. The Comets are 13-4 overall.

The Crestwood boys breezed past Berwick, 53-28, in a game played February 2.

Kyle Gegaris and Noah Jackson each scored 14 points to lead the Comets in the win. Gegaris hit four 3-pointers in his scoring effort.

Also putting points on the board for Crestwood were Kyle Richards with 10 points, Lance Blass tossed in six while Kevin Klusewitz added five. Mike Kozelsky chipped in with two points.

Jackson led Crestwood with a game-high 14 points in the Comets’ 47-21 thumping of Pittston Area on February 4. Gegaris scored eight while Ayala and Andrews each added six points.

Adding to the Crestwood tally were Boris with five points, Blass, four, Richards, two, and Andrews, 2.

44-38 victory over Pittston Area in a game played February 3.

The Lady Comets led throughout the game, and held off strong offensive effort by the Lady Patriots in the final quarter.

Julia Makowski led the Lady Comets in scoring with 17 points. Sarah Richards added eight followed by Sarah Hopkins with seven. Andrea Shipton and Kate Snipas each added six points in the win.

The Lady Comets began this week of competition with a record of 9-4 in the WVC and 12-6 overall.
