MSK Library Announces Upcoming Activities

The Marian Sutherland Kirby Library lists the follwing activities:

The Oscars are Sunday, February 26 and we’re having a little fun! Stop by the library and pick up an Oscar Nomination Ballot. Predict who you think the winners of each category will be. Get your ballot back to us by Saturday, February 25, at 4pm. One winner will be drawn from the ballots that have predicted the most correct winners, and will win a Barnes and Noble Gift Card!

Furry Tails-Is your child a shy or hesitant reader, or does your child just love to read? Angie visits the library at 6:30pm on the fourth Wednesday of every month! Call or visit to sign your child up to read to this gentle, certified therapy dog! Her next visit is February 22.

Dr. Seuss’s Birthday Party! -All Ages -February, 28, -6:00 pm , Celebrate Dr. Seuss’s 113th birthday (March 2) with stories, snacks, games, & dress up!

Meme T-Shirt Making-Grades 6 -12. Saturday, February 18 -1 pm Remember to bring a shirt with you!

Socrates Cafe -Wednesday, February 22 at 6:30pm , Conducted by Steve Wallace, adults from all walks of life gather for conversation and intellectual interaction. The group meets the fourth Wednesday of the month in the Reading Room.

February 25 at 1:00 pm, Pick up a copy at the Circulation Desk. New members welcome! Free Computer Classes-Are you or is someone you know struggling to learn the basics of computers? Join one of our free classes today simply by calling or visiting the library to sign up!

Adults ages 18 & older may choose from two basic computer classes.

Beginner Computer Lessons, every other Thursday from 2 pm -3:00pm.

One-on-one training of basic computer skills intended for people with no previous experience.

Second Level Computer Lessons every other Wednesday from 3:30pm -4:30pm.

One-on-one training for email and web browsing. Great if you already know the basics!

The library follows the inclement weather closing & delay schedule of the Crestwood School District. In the event of an early dismissal from school when the library is already open, the Library Director will make the decision as to whether the library will close early.
