PA State Trooper Accused Of Indecent Assault Of A Child

A state police trooper, Troop H, Carlisle, was arrested last week after he was accused of the indecent assault of a nine-year old girl.

On Thursday, February 2, Patrick Finn, 46, of Harrisburg, PA, was arrested by Wright Township Police Chief Royce Engler. Finn has been charged with indecent assault without consent, indecent assault of a person less than 13 years of age, and corruption of minors, a third degree felony.

According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, the alleged incident took place on December 3, 2016 at a home in Wright Township when the victim, a nine-year-old girl, was visiting relatives. The juvenile stated Finn drinks a lot and it affects him. She said he got in bed with her and began touching her and told her he wanted to have sex with her. The juvenile victim told police she thinks Finn thought she was his girlfriend.

On December 4, the girl’s mother called to check on her and tell her what time she would be picked up. When the juvenile was picked up that afternoon, she told her mother what happened.

On December 6, 2016, Chief Engler received a report of suspected child abuse from Det. Lt. Debbie Parker of the Luzerne County District Attorney’s Office. The mother of the alleged victim disclosed the abuse to Erin Odea (mandated reporter) YMCA Greater Harrisburg who reported it.

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled February 22 at 10 a. m. before Magisterial District Judge Gerald Feissner.

Finn was released on $25,000 unsecured bail.
