Drums Lioness Lions, CEC Of Scranton, Donate Items To Brandon’s Forever House
AREA ORGANIZATIONS MAKES DONATIONS-Members of the Drums Lioness Lions Club recently collected and donated items to Brandon’s Forever Home in Hazleton. The Drums Lioness Lions Club and the Community Education Centers, Inc. (CEC) of Scranton recently collected and donated items to Brandon’s Forever Home in Hazleton.

The residents of CEC Scranton worked with members of the Drums Lioness Lions Club to purchase and collect various items such as suitcases, backpacks, toys, coloring books, school supplies, and hygiene products to donate to Brandon’s Forever Home in Hazleton.

The Scranton CEC is a provider of rehabilitative services for offenders in reentry and in-prison treatment facilities recommended from the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections and Halfway Back Parole programs. The facility focuses on employment and work release to its residents, as well as substance abuse treatment, life skills, educational vocational training and opportunities for community service. The residents of the halfway house used their own money to purchase items to donate to Brandon’s Forever Home.

The Drums Lioness Lions Club conducts various fundraisers and service projects in the area which help benefit organizations and individuals in the area and around the world.

Just a few of their recent service projects include answering telephones for and donating money to the American Cancer Society Telethon, the collection of eyeglasses for the Lions and providing assistance with obtaining hearing aids, collection of items for the Hazleton Animal Shelter, collections for “Operation Christmas Child”, donating to the Valley Food Pantry, and serving coffee and donuts to the residents at the VA Nursing Center in Wilkes Barre. This service project was keeping in mind the Lions’ motto, “We Serve”.

Brandon’s Forever Home is a charitable organization created to raise awareness about children in foster care and their need for permanent loving homes. In addition to assisting children and families involved in foster care, Brandon’s Forever Home helps distribute items to needy families in the area.
