Marhold, who was appointed to serve as roadmaster once again, reported that road crews have worked to salt and cinder the roads and that they’ve had no trouble with plowing the snow that has fallen so far this year.

The crews are actively working to get satellites within the storm drains, he added, as part of the MS4 regulations, a state-mandated program for stormwater management.

Fairview Police answered 258 calls in December, including 20 burglar alarms, two criminal mischief complaints, and one theft, reported Iorio. Police also assisted with 11 accidents; issued three citations and six warnings; made two driving-under-the-influence arrests; and responded to seven erratic-driving complaints.

The zoning department took in $1,147.36 in permits in December, stated Zoning Officer John Doddo. The most significant permit was for a new home on Woodlawn Avenue, with other permits for road cuts and a deck replacement.
