Leonard P. Pyzia, Wapwallopen, died Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.
Born Aug. 31, 1928, in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of the late Stanley and Stephanie Pyzia.
Leonard attended Wilkes-Barre area schools and enlisted in the U. S. Army. He later joined the Merchant Marines and served for 20 years. Leonard also worked for many years and retired from Commercial Union Insurance Co.
He was a Master Mason with Sulvania Lodge 354, Shickshinny.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosalie, on Jan. 14, 1998; brother, Stanley; and sisters, Marion and Dorothy.
Surviving are his sons, Leonard and Jill Pyzia, Anthony Pyzia and Edward Pyzia and his wife, Erica, all of Wapwallopen; grandchildren, Alexis, Olivia, and Nicholas Pyzia; and sister, Irene Mikula, Wilkes-Barre.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family by Jendrzejewski Funeral Home, Wilkes-Barre.
