Wilkes-Barre City looked like a scene from a Charles Dickens’ Christmas movie on December 9th when Mountaintop resident Madison Dompkosky, Miss Wilkes-Barre/ Scranton’s Outstanding Teen 2017, wanted a festive way to raise funds for the Children’s Miracle Network.
Wilkes-Barre was hosting their Inaugural Old-Fashioned Holiday Market on Public Square, so Madison jumped at the chance to offer Horse-Drawn carriage rides. For only $5, individuals could ride around Public Square, view the lights, hear the carolers and enjoy the CLIP-CLOP of the horses shoes. This was a seasonal experience like no other.
Madison hopes to bring the carriage rides back next year. Wilkes-Barre’s holiday festival dates are set for December 1-2, 2017.
