ST. JUDE’S SCHOOL OBSERVES FIRE PREVENTION WEEK-The PreKindergarten and Kindergarten students at St. Jude School observed Fire Prevention Week by having members of the Wright Township Volunteer Fire Department visit them. Every year, the township fire department sends representatives who give their time to educate the students about this important topic. The firemen spoke to the students about the tools they use, the equipment they wear, having a meeting place for family to gather, the importance of smoke detectors, and how firemen deal not only with fire issues but also assist with traffic accidents and other emergency situations. They also stressed the importance of knowing their address and when to call 911. After the program, a school-wide fire drill was conducted to evaluate the school’s evacuation procedures.
