American Legion Auxiliary

American Legion Post 781 Auxiliary will meet November 1, Tuesday evening, at the American Legion Post Home 1550 Henry Drive, Mountaintop. Executive meeting will start at 7 pm. Regular meeting 7:30 p. m,. New members always welcome.

After School Clubs at MFC

Mountaintop Family Church will host After School Clubs on Tuesdays, November 1, 8 & 15. ALL children in our community from 4 years old to grade 6 can be dropped off from 3:40 to 4pm and picked up at 5pm at the church. The children will have free play time with ping pong, air hockey, Legos, basketball shoot, games and more. Children will choose from the following clubs: Crafts or Cup Stacking for grades 1-6, Lego Robotics for grades 3 to 6, and PreK & Kindergarten Club for ages 4 years old through Kindergarten. Middle School PTA Meeting

The Crestwood Middle School PTA meeting will be held on November 2, 2016 in the Middle School Library at 6:30pm. If you have a child in 7th or 8th grade, please join us and assist in planning activities for the students.

Winter Gardening Tips

Winter Interest in the Garden will be presented by Master Gardener Sandy Visintai at the Marian Sutherland Kirby Library on Wednesday, November 2 at 6:30. Sandy Visintai is a Penn State Luzerne County Master Gardener, Pennsylvania Certified Horticulturist, and President of the Hazleton Area Garden Club; with over 30 years’ experience working at a family garden center and landscaping business. Fall Business Mixer

The Rotary Club of Mountaintop will be holding a Fall Business Mixer on Thursday November 3rd at Kings Pizza in Mountaintop. Doors open at 6:00pmand program will begin 6:30pm. Donation is $10. Per person. Food and soft drinks are included. Our guest speaker will be Crestwood School District Superintendent Joseph Gorham. He will address some new and exciting plans for the 2016-2017 school year and take time for some questions. We will also have a presentation from our Club member (Dave Suitch) who will give us insight on the Rotary Youth Exchange Program as a past participant. RSVP to Mike Pinko at 570-715-7748. Cornish Pasty Sale

St. Martin in the Fields Church, 3085 Church Rd, is having a Cornish Pasty Sale. The cost is $6 each and the deadline for ordering is November 4th. Orders can be picked up at Barry’s Floral at 176 S. Roast Beef Dinner

Saint Mary’s, Dorrance, is holding its annual Roast Beef Dinner on Saturday, November 5 from 3-7 p. m. in the parish social hall, 3529 Saint Mary’s Road, Wapwallopen. Dinner includes Roast beef, mashed potatoes & gravy, corn, green beans, pickled beets, pickled cabbage, rolls & butter, dessert, and beverages. The all you can eat dinner is served family style. Indoor Flea Market

St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, located at 316 S. Mt. Blvd. will hold their fall Indoor Flea Market on Saturday, November 5th, from 8 a. m. to 2 p. m. This year’s sale will have antique and contemporary lighting, jewelry, stoneware, antique and collectibles, as well as newer items. In conjunction with the Indoor Flea Market there will be a pizza sale. Pizza will be sold on Friday evening, November 4th and all day Saturday, November 5th.

Night at the Races

The Royal Parents Club of Holy Redeemer High School present: The Night at the Races on Saturday, November 5, 2016. Table reservations will be accepted for pre-purchase tickets of 8 or more. Admission is $10. $10 per horse. Come join the races with friends, and family. Enjoy a night out with great food, fun and basket raffles.
