St. Mary’s Plans Halloween Trunk Or Treat Oct. 30

St. Mary’s of Dorrance is a welcoming church. The pastor of St. Mary’s is Rev. Joseph Evanko, and Rev. Jeffrey Tudgay, Assistant Pastor. The weekend Mass schedule is Saturday at 5:30 p. m. and Sunday at 9 a. m.

Religious Ed Fundraisers-Students are selling Gertrude Hawk Chocolates and Candle Creek Candles. Both are local companies and make great Christmas gifts. Order forms are in front of the cry room. Pre-paid orders are due back by November 13.

Altar Server Classes will begin soon. Any student in third grade and older is invited to serve at the Table of the Lord. Call the office to register. Families choose the Sat or Sun schedule.

Trunk or Treat-St. Mary’s Community Outreach Group is sponsoring a HALLOWEEN Trunk-or-Treat on Sunday, October 30 from 6-8:30 p. m. in the Church parking lot. Everyone is invited to dress up and Trick or Treat in this safe tailgate community. Car set up & decorating begins at 5:30 p. m. Call Wende to register your car 570-760-3167.

Youth Group will meet Sunday, October 30 from 5-8:30 p. m. Pizza and wings for our meeting then Trunk or Treat! Theme: Haunted Pumpkin Patch.

Roast Beef Supper will be held on Saturday, November 5 from 3-7 p. m. Help is needed to work 10a.m. to 12 noon and from 2-7 p. m. on Saturday. Adults and take out -$9; Elementary School Children -$4; and Preschool age children -no charge. Take out is available from 3-5 p. m. at the bar in the back of the social hall.

Sign up sheets for food donations and desserts are on the table in front of the cry room. Items needed include pepper, carrots, sugar, vinegar, salt & pepper, and desserts. Bring your favorite cake, pie, or other favorite dessert item.

Thanksgiving Dinner Baskets-In conjunction with St. James ChurchinHobbie, St. Mary’s will be assembling Thanksgiving Dinner baskets for local families who can use some assistance this year. Needed items include: stuffing, canned vegetables, gravy, noodles, box desserts, cranberry sauce, apple sauce, juice or dried drink mixes, and/or any other item typical of a Thanksgiving dinner or to make turkey soup. Turkeys and gift cards are also appreciated. Boxes will be in church to November 13.

Please call the parish office you or someone you know could benefit from a Dinner Basket this year. Names and contact information are needed by November 13. All names are confidential. Boxes are identified by a number. No names are ever used.

Turkey Bingo-St. Theresa’s Guild will host their annual Turkey Bingo on Sunday, November 13 in the parish social hall. Doors open at noon. Early Bird at 1 p. m. Kitchen will be open. Entrance: $2 donation. Specials, door prizes, & raffles!

St. Theresa’s Guild asks members to donate $5 worth of lottery tickets for a wreath. Tickets are due to Elaine Polak or Molly (office) by November 8.

Children’s Christmas Party-St. Theresa’s Guild will sponsor a Christmas Party for children of the parish up to and including 10 years old. The party will be held on Sunday, December 4 at 1 p. m. in the parish social hall. Sign up sheets are in the foyer of the social hall. Reservation deadline to sign up for the party is Sunday, November 13. Due to the advanced planning and preparations needed for this event late sign ups cannot be accepted.
