Alice Joan Faber, 94, Mountain Top, died Oct. 18, 2016, at Smith Health Care, Mountain Top.

Born in Omaha, Neb., she was a daughter of the late Henry and Henrietta (Bixton) Schmidt.

Alice was a member of the St. Martin in the Fields Episcopal Church, Mountain Top. Her passion was for sewing, but she was also very good at crocheting and needlepoint as well.

Alice was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her first husband, Joseph Stortz; her second husband, Harry Lee Faber; and her son, Thomas Stortz.

Alice is survived by her children, Deanne Oster and her husband, Russell, of Ebervale, Cheryl Stewart and her husband, James, of Mountain Top, and Joseph Stortz and his wife, Cathy, of Brunswick, Ga.; her stepchildren, John, of California, and Susan, Martin and James, all of Colorado. Alice is also survived by her grandchildren, Mindy Yost, James Stewart Jr. and Jere Lynn Croll; and her great-grandson, Randy Yost; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held at St. Martin in the Fields Episcopal Church, Mountain Top. Rev. Daniel FitzSimmons, officiated.

McCune Funeral Home, Mountain Top, handled the arrangements.
