Rice Elementary Book Fair

Rice Elementary Scholastic Fall Book Fair Family Night will be held Wed., October 26th, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 for Family Night. Shop the book fair in the library and then head over to the large group room for Rice Elementary’s Haunted Gallery. Don’t forget to stop by the gymnasium for some fun activities. Safe Trick or Treat Night

A Safe Trick or Treat Night is being hosted by LVHN Health Center at Mountain Top, 237 S. Mountain Blvd., Suite 7 (Weis Plaza) on Thursday, Oct. 27 from 5-8 p. m. Children accompanied by their parents are welcome to stop by for healthy treats. For more information, call 570-261-5000.

Spaghetti Dinner

Spaghetti Dinner will be held at the Presbyterian Church of Mountain Top, 9 Chestnut St., on Sat, October 29th. Take-outs are from 4-5 p. m. and the dinner will be served from 5-7 p. m. The cost for Adults (12+) is $9, Children (6-11), $5, and age 5 & under, Free.

Ham & Cabbage Dinner

The American Legion , Mt Post 781 at 1550 Henry Dr Mountain Top will hold a Ham and Cabbage dinner on October 29th from 4 until 7:30. The cost of the dinner is $9.00 eat in or take out. Any questions please call 570 678-7105.

American Legion Auxiliary

American Legion Post 781 Auxiliary will meet November 1, Tuesday evening, at the American Legion Post Home 1550 Henry Drive, Mountaintop. Executive meeting will start at 7 pm. Regular meeting 7:30 p. m,. New members always welcome.

After School Clubs at MFC

Mountaintop Family Church will host After School Clubs on Tuesdays, November 1, 8 & 15. ALL children in our community from 4 years old to grade 6 can be dropped off from 3:40 to 4pm and picked up at 5pm at the church. The children will have free play time with ping pong, air hockey, Legos, basketball shoot, games and more. Children will choose from the following clubs: Crafts or Cup Stacking for grades 1-6, Lego Robotics for grades 3 to 6, and PreK & Kindergarten Club for ages 4 years old through Kindergarten. Middle School PTA Meeting

The Crestwood Middle School PTA meeting will be held on November 2, 2016 in the Middle School Library at 6:30pm. If you have a child in 7th or 8th grade, please join us and assist in planning activities for the students.

Winter Gardening Tips

Winter Interest in the Garden will be presented by Master Gardener Sandy Visintai at the Marian Sutherland Kirby Library on Wednesday, November 2 at 6:30. Sandy Visintai is a Penn State Luzerne County Master Gardener, Pennsylvania Certified Horticulturist, and President of the Hazleton Area Garden Club; with over 30 years’ experience working at a family garden center and landscaping business. Fall Business Mixer

The Rotary Club of Mountaintop will be holding a Fall Business Mixer on Thursday November 3rd at Kings Pizza in Mountaintop. Doors open at 6:00pm and program will begin 6:30pm. Donation is $10. Per person. Food and soft drinks are included. Our guest speaker will be Crestwood School District Superintendent Joseph Gorham. He will address some new and exciting plans for the 2016-2017 school year and take time for some questions. We will also have a presentation from our Club member (Dave Suitch) who will give us insight on the Rotary Youth Exchange Program as a past participant. RSVP to Mike Pinko at 570-715-7748. Indoor Flea Market

St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, located at 316 S. Mt. Blvd. will hold their fall Indoor Flea Market on Saturday, November 5th, from 8 a. m. to 2 p. m. This year’s sale will have antique and contemporary lighting, jewelry, stoneware, antique and collectibles, as well as newer items. In conjunction with the Indoor Flea Market there will be a pizza sale. Pizza will be sold on Friday evening, November 4th and all day Saturday, November 5th.
