Theatre at the Grove continues their 2016 Season with the musical Bonnie and Clyde starring Ben Steltz as Clyde Barrow and Lauren Fredmund, of Mountaintop, as Bonnie Parker. Performances run through October 30th at the historic venue located at 5177 Nuangola Rd. in Nunagola.
The immersive production is directed by Grove Artistic Director Michael Marone with musical direction by Christopher LaFrance and Hollie Major.
When Bonnie & Clyde meet, mutual cravings for excitement immediately set them on a mission to chase their dreams of fame. Their bold and reckless behavior turns the young lovers’ thrilling adventure into a downward spiral, putting themselves and their loved ones in trouble with the law. Forced on the run from every southern state’s police force, the notorious lovers resort to robbery and murder to survive. As the infamous duo’s fame grows bigger, their inevitable demise draws nearer. Bonnie & Clyde is a thrilling and sexy musical with a non-traditional score, combining blues, gospel and rockabilly music. In addition to Fredmund and Steltz in the leading roles the cast includes Matthew Buckman as Clyde’s brother Buck and Sarah Pellegrini as Buck’s wife Blanche. Dave Baker takes on the role of Ted Hinton while Christian Lynch portrays The Preacher. Kieran Elliott and Liam Huff play the younger incarnations of Bonnie and Clyde. The remainder of the cast includes Karen Steltz, John Lipka, Violet Lipka, Marikate Sullivan, Maia Bagusky, Andrea Ladner, Karl Kleist, Matthew Wegener, Dan Nudo, Michael Marone, and Gracie Sinclair.
