Communion To Be Offered Sept. 4At St. Paul’s Church

St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Mountaintop, Summer Worship Service schedule is Sunday at 8:30 and 10 a. m. Summer Office Hours are from 8 a. m. to noon. There is no Nursery during the summer.

Fall schedule begins September 11 with Sunday services at 8:30 and 11 a. m. Sunday Church School is at 9:30. Office Hours start September 6 from 8:30 a. m. to 12:30 p. m.

Communion will be offered September 4th and 18th.

A Healing Service is scheduled Wednesday, September, 7th at 11a.m. A Potluck Luncheon follows at noon.

The church office will be closed Monday, Sept. 5 for Labor Day.

Bible Study-Consider joining this lively discussion on Thursday afternoons, from 1: 00-3 pm. at St. Paul’s. Everyone is welcome.

Confirmation Preparation-Parents and students in grades 7 and above who have not yet been confirmed are expected to attend an information meeting at 10 a. m. on Sunday, September 11th.

The next Game Day meeting is Wednesday, September 14 at 1 at the church. Jackie McDermott is the hostess. Bring a lot of ideas! Every third Wednesday, at 1:00 p. m. at the church will be board game day. Please bring your favorite game and a snack to share. Next game day scheduled September 21st.

Hoagie Sale-Watch for the signup sheet on the narthex bulletin board. All orders must be in by the previous Sunday, which in this case will be, Sunday, September 18th with a pick up date of Thursday, September 22nd. The cost of the hoagies is $4.00 each. The sign-up sheet is on the narthex bulletin board. They’re available the 3rd Thursday of each month except December. Pick up time 9:00 a. m.

Chicken BBQ-St. Paul’s is sponsoring a Chicken Barbeque on Saturday, September 24th from 12 to 5 p. m. People are needed to work in the kitchen and as well as people to donate food such as coleslaw and corn muffins and dessert. Also needed is BBQ sauce and industrial size cans of corn and green beans. A sign-up sheet will be posted shortly on the bulletin board. Many hands make light work. Tickets are $9.50 adults; $5.00 children. Joel and Karen Weiss will be selling the tickets after/between church services starting September and you can also get them at the church office during office hours.

Roast Beef Dinner is planned Saturday October 15th from 4-7 p. m.

Apple Dumplings and Silent Auction-Saturday October 22, and Sunday October 23rd.

Pizza Sale and Flea Market-Nov. 4th and Nov. 5th.

Afree Christian Concert featuring William Doney, a National Singer/songwriter from Allentown, at St. Paul’s on Sunday, September 25, 2016 from 6 to 7:30 p. m. Afterward there will be a Meet and Greet with the Artist and signing of CD’s. A Goodwill Offering will be taken.

Apple Dumplings-If you would like to help make apple dumplings on Saturday, October 22nd in the morning, please sign up on the signup sheet located on the bulletin board. Helpers are needed to put dumplings in boxes and to clean up, see sign-up sheet also.

The first Sunday of each month has been declared Food Bank Day and we ask that members remember those less fortunate by bringing nonperishable food items. in order to keep up with the demand for food.

Crochet Club will start to work on lap robes for St. Luke’s Manor in Hazleton from now until December. If you need any yarn, let Lois know. If any of you are talented in crocheting or knitting, or would like to learn, they cordially invite you to join them. Lessons will be given by Lois. If you can’t make their meetings, please call Lois Burge at 474-5502, and volunteer your talents by making the items at your own pace at home.

The following weekly meetings are scheduled: Stress and Anxiety Management every 2nd and last Tuesdays of the month at 6:30; NA meetings every Thursday at 6 p. m.;

AA meetings: every Wednesday and Friday at 7 p. m. and and Sundays at 7 p. m.; and

Weight Watchers every Wednesday at 6:15 p. m.
