Presbyterian Women To Meet

James Shanley, pastor, Presbyterian Church of Mountain Top, 9 Chestnut Street, just off North Main St., invites you to worship Sunday, August 28, at 10:30am. Pastor Shanley will continue his sermon series on The Apostles Creed with “Holy Catholic Church”.

Children’s Church will also be discontinued for the summer months. After the Children’s Sermon, children are invited to stay with their parents or if heading to the nursery check on available supervision.

The Presbyterian Women will meet at the home of Nancy Smith, Wed. August 31, at 10:00 am. They will schedule the fall Chile sale and discuss the years Bible Study plans. Following the meeting they will share in a luncheon fellowship. Please contact Nancy with your side dish.

Sept. 11 we will return to the regular church schedule with the start of Sunday School at 9:30am and the Worship Service moving to 11:00am. The Choir will also be returning and we look forward to their wonderful gift of music.

Please continue to donate your food items weekly to be given to the Mountain Top food bank. Bins are located at the rear of the Sanctuary. The need is great for packaged items, mayonnaise, coffee and sugar and peanut butter. There is a special need for pork & beans, canned tomatoes and red beets.

Once again The Church Family has excelled in giving with the Backpack Collection. We were able to fill 31 backpacks with additional supplies for others. The generosity of all the congregations is too great for words. God will bless each and every donation great or small. Many thanks.

2016 dates to purchase bulletin covers to honor or recognize someone are quickly filling up. A month’s supply of bulletin covers is $35. If there is a certain month you would like to purchase check with the office for availability. Flowers are also available to purchase for $35 for the vases or a special arrangement for the pedestal. Contact Allison Pekar to schedule flowers or call the church office.

We thank the Choir for their Ministry during the church year and look forward to the return of their songs of praise in September. The first practice for the upcoming season will be Sept. 8th with a return to worship on Sept. 11.

Please continue to pray for our country. It is especially important in this election year.

Opportunities: June 13 til September: The church will be worshiping on the summer schedule with the service beginning at 10:
