The American Red Cross has scheduled two blood drives in Mountaintop on August 23: 1 p. m. -6 p. m. at the Mountain Top Family Church, 209 South Mountain Blvd, and from 2 p. m. -7 p. m. at the Wright Township Fire Hall, 477 South Main Road. St. Jude School will hold orientation for new students on Wednesday, August 24 beginning at 9 a. m. in the school cafeteria. Important information will be presented by the administration, the early childhood faculty, and the Parent Teacher Guild concerning the policies and procedures of St. Jude’s. Three-year-old students will remain with their parents. Four-year-olds students will enjoy classroom activities. Kindergarten students will rotate among stations and be treated to a bus ride. Mountaintop Family Church’s 14th Annual Community Summer Fun Fest will be held August 26th and 27th at 5:00pm at the Mountaintop Hose Fire Company picnic grounds. EVERYTHING IS 25 CENTS!! There will be food, games, and inflatables for the kids.
Crestwood Boys Basketball Booster Club will hold its first meeting for the upcoming season on August 29, 2016 at 7pm at Cavanaugh’s. If you have a student playing Crestwood basketball you are invited to attend. The meeting will entail discussion regarding the Nite At The Races fundraiser and events for the start of the season.
The Mt. Top Diabetes Support Group will be held on Thursday, September 8 at 6 p. m. at the Chalet Restaurant. Topic for this meeting is “Dining Out”. Speaker is Ruth Wimsatt-Jones, MS, RD, LDN. The first auxiliary meeting for American Legion Post 781, Mountaintop will be held on September 6, 2016, at the post home, Henry Drive, Mountaintop. Executive meeting is scheduled at 7 pm. Regular meeting 7:30 p. m. New members are always welcome. Come join us for an exciting new 2016-2017 auxiliary season.

The Mountain Top Area Volleyball League announces registration and pre-season practice will be held at the Rice Elementary School gymnasium on Monday Sept. 12th and 19th from 6:30pm to 9:30pm. The season will start on Sept. 26, 2016 and conclude on May 22nd, 2017. Games will be held on Monday nights from 6:30pm to 9:30pm at Rice, approximately 30 nights of play. League competition is recreational and open to men and women ages 20 and up. The league is limited to 64 members. Dues for the 2016-2017 season are $25.00 per player, collected at registration.
