Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion Training-Are you drawn to serve as a Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion? St. Mary’s and St. Jude’s will be commissioning new Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion on Sunday, October 9 at 9 am at Saint Mary’s and 10:30 am at St. Jude’s. Prior to the commissioning of new Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, aspirants are required to attend three consecutive training sessions. These sessions will focus on the nature of lay participation in priestly ministry, the theology of the Eucharist, and the liturgical aspects of serving as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion.

In addition to new Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, all current Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion are required to attend the three consecutive sessions for continuing formation and adjusted serving procedures at both parishes. Because the three sessions are consecutive and build on each other, attendance at all three for new and current Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion is mandatory.

Below is the schedule for the formation sessions for all current and new Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion: Sept 13 -Sept 20 -Sept 27 at 10:30 a. m. or 6:30 p. m.

Each session is offered twice for convenience at Saint Jude Church. To register or for more information call Father Jeff at 570-474-6315 ext. 226 or jtudgay@stjc.org.
