St. Jude’s Picnic Weekend

It’s time for good food, good fun, and good fellowship at the St. Jude Parish Picnic in the grove on Friday, August 12 from 4 p. m. until 11 p. m., Saturday, August 13 from 4 p. m. until 11 p. m., and Sunday, August 14 from noon until 9 p. m.

The picnic raffle features a Grand Prize of $10,000. Booths include theme baskets, beer/wine, instant bingo, regular bingo, children’s games, plants, baked goods, Vera Bradley, and more. Food items will include hamburgers, hot dogs, cheeseburgers, French fries, kielbasa, pierogies, potato pancakes, pasta, nachos, and many other picnic favorites!

Due to the construction, parking is at the Crestwood High School parking lot. Continuous shuttle busses will provide service to and from the grove. Authorized handicap parking permits will be behind the church.

Donations are needed for the plant booth. House plants and perennials are suggested. Plants may be dropped off at the Grand Prize area between now and picnic weekend. Plant pickup is also available. Please contact Therese Smith at 570-868-3458 for further information.

Bottles of wine or bottles of fine spirits are also needed. Donations may be dropped off at the Parish Office

On picnic weekend, all Masses will be held at St. Mary’s in Dorrance. Saturday Masses on August 13 will be at 4 p. m., 5:30 p. m., and 7 p. m. Sunday Masses will be at 7:30 a. m., 9 a. m., 10:30 a. m., noon, and 5 p. m.

Building Bucks gift cards will not be sold in the church on picnic weekend due to all Masses being held at St. Mary’s in Dorrance. No Express Orders will be available for pick up the weekend of the picnic.

Religious Education is looking for a few teachers. We are in need of substitutes for the 2016-2017 school year. Substitutes must have all clearances and be willing to be added to our list for when catechists are unable to attend. Our catechists work so hard throughout the year. Please consider joining us to help them in their volunteer work. Please drop off donations in the specially marked boxes in the annex of the church.

Weekday Masses at St. Jude’s are Monday through Friday at 7 a. m. and Wednesday at 12:10 p. m. Weekday Masses at St. Mary’s are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday at 8 a. m. Saturday Vigil Masses are 4 p. m. at St. Jude’s and 5:30 p. m. at St. Mary’s. Sunday Masses are 7:30 a. m., 9 a. m., 10:30 a. m. and noon at St. Jude’s and 9 a. m. at St. Mary’s.
