Lawrence G. Ruth, 66, Wapwallopen, died July 30, 2016, at home.

He was born in Nanticoke on March 5, 1950, and was the son of the late Floyd and Irene Shibilski.

He was a graduate of Crestwood High School, was employed as a factory worker by Eberhard Faber before retirement, and was a member of St. Faustina Parish, Nanticoke.

Larry enjoyed the outdoors, hunting with his nephew, Kevin, as well as Josh and Jett, and fishing with his Uncle Joe, and Nephew Hayden. He was so proud of his garden, always patiently waiting for the first ripe tomato. He always looked to his family’s Sunday and holiday dinners and lunches with his Uncle Rich. Larry was a true diehard Redskins fan.

He had a big heart and would always help anyone in need. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by a brother-in-law, Richard Fisher.

Presently surviving are his sisters, Beverly Cruikshank and husband, Herbert, and Judith Ruth and fiancé, Sam Favata; nieces, Valerie Fisher and companion, David Karchin, and Rachel Fleegle and husband, Joshua; nephews, Shaun Rinehimer and Kevin Rinehimer and wife, Maria; great-nieces, Mariah Rinehimer and Seraphina Fleegle; great-nephews, Hayden, Jade and Jett Fleegle; along with aunts, uncles and cousins.

Private funeral services were held from Grontkowski Funeral Home, Nanticoke. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in St. Faustina Parish Church. Rev. Richard Fox offered. Interment was in Stairville Cemetery, Wapwallopen. There are no public calling hours at the funeral home.
