LCCC DENTAL ASSISTING PROGRAM CELEBRATES 40TH ANNIVERSARY

LCCC DENTAL ASSISTING PROGRAM CELEBRATES 40TH ANNIVERSARY-The 40th anniversary of the Dental Assisting Program at Luzerne County Community College was celebrated on May 13th during the 17th Annual Dental Health Alumni Day at the College’s main campus in Nanticoke. Over 250 graduates of the Dental Assisting and Dental Hygiene Programs and other DH Professionals met at the Educational Conference Center to attend continuing educational seminars mandatory for the profession. The anniversary was noted to recognize all the dental assistants who have graduated from the program. The first Dental Assisting class graduated in 1976 with 14 students and has since graduated 481 professionals. The program is conducted in the state-of-the-art Benco Dental Clinic located in the Francis and Mary Gill Carrozza, R. N. Health Sciences Building in downtown Nanticoke. Enrollment is about the same –they have 15 in class now.
