Altar & Rosary Society To Meet July 18 At St. Mary’s Church

St. Mary’s of Dorrance is a welcoming church. The pastor of St. Mary’s is Reverend Joseph Evanko, and Rev. Jeffrey Tudgay, Reverend Assistant Pastor. The weekend Mass schedule is Saturday at 5:30 p. m. and Sunday at 9 a. m.

Registration Education Forms: Registration forms can be found in the file holder in the vestibule of the church. Classes for children in Kindergarten through sixth grade are held at Saint Mary’s. Seventh and eighth grade classes are held at Saint Jude.

Catechists and Aides are needed next year at Saint Mary’s. For more information call Mrs. Heller 570-379-2647.

Altar & Rosary meeting will be on July 18 at 7 p. m. There will be a summer picnic before the meeting. If you plan to attend please call Pat at 379-3107meeting.

Medical Equipment: Quite a few walker, wheel chairs, crutches, potty chairs, and shower chairs are available. All items are available to parishioners, their family and friends. Items do not have to be returned. Please call the parish office to make arrangements to pick up needed items.

Mass of Remembrance will be celebrated Thursday, July 14 at 7 p. m. for Victims of Violent or Tragic Death . The Diocese of Scranton has its annual Mass for the families and friends of those who have died in tragedy, especially murder, suicide, and accident. The Mass will be in Saint Peter’s Cathedral, 315 Wyoming Avenue, Scranton. All persons who have lost a loved one in this manner are invited to this liturgy. Names of deceased loved ones can be registered by calling the parish office or accessed on the Service and Social Concerns webpage at, www.dioceseofscranton.org.Questions about this Mass: Office for Parish Life at 570-207-2213. monthly home visits to homebound and ailing parishioners. Call the office with the person’s name and contact information to be added to the list. Calls are made prior to all visits.

Women’s Day of Reflection-The Scranton Diocesan Council of Catholic Women will conduct a Day of Reflection on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at The Villa of Our Lady Retreat House, 245 Meadowside Road, Mount Pocono, PA. Monsignor Vincent Grimalia, Chaplain of St. Luke’s Villa will conduct the retreat. The topic is “Jubilee Year of Mercy.” The retreat will begin at 8:30 a. m. and will end by 2:00 p. m. A continental breakfast and luncheon will be served. The cost is $35. All Catholic women are invited to attend. Please send your reservation with payment to Helen Oravec, 814 Theresa Street, Peckville, PA 18452. The reservation deadline is July 25.
