Rotary Club Presents 2016Steam Train Excursion

Don’t miss our 2016 Steam Train Excursion to take place on July 23rd 2016. The train boards in Mountaintop 8:30 am and departs at 9:30 am. There will be parking and shuttle service from the Mountaintop Hose Co #1. The train will arrive in Historic Jim Thorpe at 11:30am. Enjoy a day of dining, shopping, taking in museums and much more. The train will board at 3:30pm and arrive back in Mountaintop approx. 5:45pm. The cost is $70 per person and can be purchased at the Triangle Pharmacy in Mountaintop or at can also visit was a sold out event in 2014. Get you tickets now! Farmers Market

The Rotary Club of Mountaintop is excited to bring back the SUNDAY Farmers Market for 2016. This is held every Sunday morning from 9am to 1pm in front of Crestwood High School on Rt 309 in Mountaintop. The season will kick off on July 3rd. The market will offer fresh fruits and vegetables, local honey, eggs, baked goods and much more. Please come out to support your local farms and businesses. Fairview Park Summer Program

The annual Summer Park Program at Fairview Memorial Park will run from Monday through Friday, August 12, 2016 from 10:00 a. m. to 4:00 p. m. Cost is $100 for the first child; and $75 for each thereafter. You can register with the Fairview Twp. Secretary at the municipal building Monday through Friday at any time during the summer camp program. There will be swimming, arts and crafts, sports, outdoor games, nature hikes, science; field trips and much more. Please join us this summer at Memorial Park!

Mt. Top Hose Co. Bazaar

Mt. Top Hose Co. No. 1 will hold its 43rd Annual Bazaar on July 15th, 16th and 17th. The event will feature good food, games, prizes and fun for the whole family. There will be entertainment nightly: Carl Alber & Sundance on Saturday at 4 p. m.; Fireman’s parade on Saturday at 5 p. m.; Pat Ward Magic Show on Saturday, at 7 p. m.; and a New Merchandise Auction on Sunday at 5 p. m. Bazaar opens Friday at 5:30 p. m.; Saturday at 5 p. m. and Sunday at 4 p. m. The Hose Co. is located just over the top of the Mountain at Route 309.

Blood Drive

The American Red Cross will sponsor a blood drive on July 15 from 1:30 p. m. -6 p. m., at Mountain Laurel Resort and Spa, Route 940, Box 9, White Haven. For more information call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).

All You Can Eat Breakfast

All You Can Eat Breakfast sponsored by VFW Post 6615 will be held July 17, 2016 from 8 a. m. to 12 noon. The cost is $ 8.00. The breakfast will be held at 3 Veteran Rd., White Haven. For more information call (570) 443-3333.

Jacob Brothers Concert

On Sunday evening, July 17 at 6:00pm The Presbyterian Church of Mountain Top, 9 Chestnut Street, just off North Main St. will host a special concert presentation by renown recording and television artists THE JACOBS BROTHERS. They are making this special stop at the Presbyterian Church as they head home to Dillsburg from a performance tour. THE JACOBS BROTHERS have shared their Gospel Music Ministry for over 50 years, and we are excited to have them come to Mountain Top and share their Legacy of Praise. A free will offering will be accepted. Please help us fill the church for this exciting evening of music and worship.

Garden Club Outing

The Mountain Top Garden Club will host its first outing of the 2016 when the club visits Butler Community Garden. Established in 2008 for promoting environmental and community sustainability through landscape-based education, the BCG has been a wonderful resource for the local community. It offers courses on a variety of gardening topics, as well as fresh produce in season and unique learning opportunities for all age and ability groups. We will meet at the Butler Community Garden, located at 415 W. Butler Drive in Drums, just behind the Valley East Little League field, at 11:00 a. m. on June 18th. Our visit to the garden will include a personalized tour by MTGC member Roberta Lee. The tour and visit will wrap up around 1:00 p. m.
