Brian Jon Gricol, 59, Eldersburg, Md., died peacefully May 30, 2016, at Carroll Hospice, Dove House.

Born in Flat Rock, Mich., on Sept. 11, 1956, he was the son of the late Joseph D. Gricol and the late Barbara Gricol Owens, and the stepson of the late Richard Owens.

He is survived by Carol, his wife of 18 years.

Brian had a long and successful career in the kitchen design industry and was also the owner of Carol Ann’s Crafts and Candles in Luzerne. He loved his work, all things baseball and concerts at Wolf Trap. He was the big guy with the big heart.

Also surviving are his siblings, Michelle Jones and husband, Ken, Jeffrey Gricol and wife, Greta, Gayle Bekker, Lenore Brammeier and husband, Doug, Kimberly Guise and husband, Brad, Elizabeth Myslowski and husband, Ed, and Joel Gricol and wife, Robin, and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his nephew, Matthew Jones, and nieces, Julie Gricol and Laura Brammeier Yoho.

Brian generously donated his body to the Maryland Anatomy Board to further their research and teaching initiatives.

A memorial service and celebration of Brian’s life will be held at 11 a. m. July 2 in the Luzerne United Methodist Church, 440 Bennett St., Luzerne.
