St. Jude’s Vacation Bible Study Set-Up Times Announced

Volunteers are needed to help turn the school into a deep sea adventure. Set-up times for Vacation Bible School are Friday, June 17 from 9 a. m. until 3 p. m. and Saturday, June 18 from 9 a. m. until 3 p. m. Volunteers are welcome for any amounts of time to help decorate for the Deep Sea Discovery which will begin the following week.

The following supplies are needed for the VBS -paper towel tubes, foil, clothes pins, duct tape, sponges, ribbon scraps, and curling ribbon. Also two large plastic pools are needed for the preschool playground. If anyone is willing to donate, please contact Carrie at the Parish Office.

Light the Fire, a summer youth rally, is now in its 10th year and provides high school students with a high-energy day filled with Catholic speakers, a variety of workshops, awesome music, friends, Eucharistic adoration, the sacrament of Reconciliation, and closing Mass. This year’s rally will be at Misericordia University on June 29. Students entering grades 9 through 12 in the fall are invited. The main speaker is Chris Padgett, who Confirmation students will recognize from the Chosen video series. Full Armor will provide the music. A bus will leave St. Jude Church parking lot at 8 a. m. The 27th Annual St. Jude Golf Tournament will be held on Friday, June 24 at Sand Springs Golf Club. Shotgun start at 1 p. m. The tournament fee is $75 for a single junior golfer, $90 per single golfer, or $360 for Captain and Crew and includes a golf cart, green fees, course refreshments, dinner, and prizes. Make checks payable to St. Jude School and return to the school with the registration form by June 14 to reserve your spot. Indicate which school the $25 (per golfer), $10 (junior golfer), tuition credit should be applied -St. Jude School, Holy Family Academy, or Holy Redeemer High School. The men from the Mother Teresa Haven program will be guests from June 27-July 4. Food/meals, snacks, and beverages will be needed for these men. The menus will be on the wall of the church. Volunteers are needed to serve each night. Contact Deacon Gene at the Parish Office if you can help.

It’s time to sign up for the World Youth Day. WYD Stateside is an outdoor, overnight experience for high school youth and young adults from the dioceses of Pennsylvania and New Jersey, the Archdiocese of Baltimore, and our neighboring and regional (arch) dioceses. The celebration will be in Lancaster, PA on July 30-31 in conjunction with WYD in Krakow, Poland. This pilgrimage offers a series of events similar to those occurring in Poland -a pilgrimage walk, Stations of the Cross, opportunities for Reconciliation and Adoration, Mass, concerts, speakers, and an outdoor candlelit vigil. The cost for the pilgrimage is $200 and includes all meals and bus transportation to Lancaster. The overnight vigil will be held at Clipper Magazine Baseball Stadium and Lancaster Catholic High School Stadium. Further details are on the Parish website at sjspa.organd click on Youth Ministry.

Weekday Masses at St. Jude’s are Monday through Friday at 7 a. m. and Wednesday at 12:10 p. m. Weekday Masses at St. Mary’s are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday at 8 a. m. Saturday Vigil Masses are 4 p. m. at St. Jude’s and 5:30 p. m. at St. Mary’s. Sunday Masses are 7:30 a. m., 9 a. m., 10:30 a. m. and noon at St. Jude’s and 9 a. m. at St. Mary’s.
