The Crestwood boys’ baseball team lost a close 6-5 game to Hazleton Area on May 9.

Tim Kindler was 3 for 4 with two RBI to lead the Comets. Colin Macko also went 3 for 4 while James Graves, RJ Kresge and Derek Distasio also had hits.

Matt Mickowski took the loss for the Comets.

Crestwood recorded an impressive 9-0 win over host Coughlin on May 11.

Winning pitcher Jim Albee pitched a three-hit shutout.

For the Comets, Graves and Tim Kindler each had three hits and two RBI. Distasio and Kresge each had two hits for the winners.

Crestwood lost to Pittston Area, 6-1, in a game played May 14.

Albee drove in Curtis Tokasch for Crestwood’s only run.

Mickowski took the loss for the Comets.


The girls’ softball team lost to Wyoming valley West, 3-1, in a game played May 9.

For the lady Comets, Jordan Olenginski and Haley Naperkowski each had two hits while Sarah Macko had an RBI.

Katie Thomas was the losing pitcher.

Berwick dominated the action on May 11 when the lady Bulldogs shutout Crestwood 7-0.

The only hits for Crestwood came off the bats of Haley Dow and Morghan Murphy.

Haley Naperkowski took the loss on the mound for the lady Comets.

On May 12, Crestwood lost by a score of 3-1 to Wyoming Area.

The lady Comets’ only homerun came was hit by Sydney Soblewski in the top of the first inning. Kate

Pitcher Thomas took the loss for Crestwood.

+++++ The Crestwood boys’ volleyball

team recorded a 3-0 shutout over Lake Lehman on May 10. Scores were 25-21, 25-21 and 25-21.

Michael Williams led Crestwood with 33 assists and three aces.

Mendell Foreman finished with 13 kills while Kyle Sanders chipped in with 11 kills. Teammate Noah Modrovsky recorded nine service points and two digs in the win.
