More than 250 Luzerne County fifth graders made scientific discoveries when Wilkes University hosted Adventures in Science 2016 on April 29. Participating schools included: Crestwood School District’s Fairview Elementary, Hazelton Area, Susquehanna Prep, Our Lady of Peace, Holy Rosary, and Mount Carmel.
Students had the opportunity to attend 13 different science labs, which will run for 25 minutes on the half hour. Labs with such pitcturesque names as “Gak, Splat, Boom,” “Graveyard Disaster” and “The Pitcher of Doom” will explorea variety of scientific concepts, fromanimal behavior to engineering andwater treatment.
Labs included: Imagination andInvention, Wizards of Physics, Creepy Crawlers, and Crime SceneInvestigation.
