Relay For Life Sets Luminary Ceremony

The Mountain Top Relay for Life will take place on May 14 from 10 am to 11 pm at Crestwood High School.

At 9:00 pm on May 14th there will be a Luminaria Ceremony, one of the most moving parts of the event. As the sun sets and darkness falls, the night will be brightened by the glow of illuminated bags called luminaria. Each bag will bear the name of someone who has battled cancer. Some celebrate cancer survivors, while others help us honor and remember those gone too soon. All represent someone special who has been profoundly affected by cancer and the family and friends who continue to fight back in their honor. Our speaker for this year’s ceremony will be Nanci DeSousa.

If you would like to purchase a luminaria in honor or in memory of someone who has battled cancer, please contact Lisa Ayers at (570)760-3716 or layers9597@aol.com.
