The Nuangola Library is once again offering scholarship funds to Crestwood High School seniors graduating this June and going on to various post-graduate programs. Scholarship application forms are now available and may be obtained by students at the high school’s guidance office. Students should follow the directions found on the application for writing their essay and submit it by the deadline of May 6, 2016. Applications turned in after the deadline will not be considered. Three Ann E. Thomas memorial awards were given last school year at the graduation awards ceremony.
An Indoor Flea Market/Craft Sale will be held Saturday, May 7 from 9 a. m. to 2 p. m. at Stairville United Methodist Church, Stairville Road, Dorrance, 2.5 miles off I-81Nuangola exit. Tables are 410. Refreshments, baked goods and spring flowers. For more information call 868-3413.
The Crestwood High School PTA is holding a car wash on Saturday, May 7th from 10 am to 2 pm at Crestwood High School. Cost is $5 per car. Proceeds benefit the Senior Lock-In. This is the final fundraiser of the year! Hope to see you there!
The Mountain Top Welcome Club together with The Mountain Top Rotary will be hosting a Yoga Fundraising event benefiting the Mountain Top Food Pantry, Free Medical Clinic, and Kirby Library on May 7th beginning at 11am with Maureen Kaminski instructing. It will be held at All Star Cheer Academy in the rear of the Odyssey Fitness Center. A donation of $15 for an adult and $10 for students/ children will be collected. All ages are welcome to join. Walk ins are welcome or see any member of the Mountain Top Welcome Club or Rotary to reserve your spot.

All members are encouraged to attend the American Legion meeting that will be held on May 9, 2016 at 7:30 pm at Mountain Post 781 at that time nominations of Legion Officers will be held followed by elections at the regular Legion meeting on June 13th at 7:30 pm.
May’s meeting of the Mountain Top Garden Club will be a make-and-take workshop so come prepared to work. Special guest will be Master Gardener Valerie Neal and she will present, “The Art of Making Vinaigrettes”. These will be vinaigrettes that utilize a number of different herbal choices in a vinegar base. All the materials will be supplied by the Mountain Top Garden Club, so just bring yourself. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 10th at 6:30 p. m. at the Rice Township Municipal Building. Meetings are open to the public and anyone is welcome to join us at any time! The Rice Elementary PTA will host their monthly meeting on Tuesday May 10th at 6 p. m. in the school’s library. All parents, grandparents, and guardians are encouraged to attend the meeting to learn about the upcoming events at the school. Babysitting will be available.
