Judith “Judy” Elizabeth (Partridge) Murphy, Exeter, died April 15, 2016, after multiple illnesses.
Judy was the loving wife of James “Jim” Michael Murphy, of Conshohocken, deceased. Judy was also preceded in death by her parents, George and Betty (Long) Partridge.
Judy is survived by her brother, George and sister-in-law, MaryAnn; sons, Edward and wife, Tracy, James and wife, Kate, Joshua and partner, Selena; and daughter, Elizabeth and fiance, Mike; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Judy was born in Philadelphia and raised in Collingdale, where she was the May Queen in both first grade and her senior year of high school. She played for the field hockey and basketball teams there.
Judy and Jim started and raised their family in the Philadelphia, Southampton, Conshohocken, Freehold, New Jersey, and Mountain Top areas.
Judy was well known to patrons of Triangle Pharmacy in Mountain Top, where she worked for many years as a cashier.
For most of the past two years, Judy resided at Highland Manor in Exeter, where she became very involved in social activities.
Judy lived for her family, loved life, lived with a positive attitude, was a caring, kind, and gentle soul with a smile and kind word for everyone she met. She will be deeply missed by her friends and family.
Services will be held Wednesday, April 20, at McCune Funeral Home, 80 S. Mountain Blvd., Mountain Top. Friends may call from 10 to 11:30 a. m. The service for family and close friends will begin at 11:30 a. m.
The family requests donations be made in Judy’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
