The Mountain Top Area Knights of Columbus will hold its monthly business meeting on March 8, 2016 at 7:30 p. m. at the St Jude school library. The Mountain Top Garden Club will blossom with a “Welcome Spring” social! On Tuesday, March 8 at 6:30 pm the club will meet to kick off the 2016 gardening season. During this first meeting we will till through each other’s gardening secrets, beginning with the members of the planning committee. Topics will include everything from favorite tools to related hobbies. A seed planting session is planned, local vendors will be reviewed, and refreshments will be served. We will also unveil some of the topics and field trip options for the rest of the year, as well as review active plans for our annual plant sale. The meeting will be held at the Rice Township Municipal Building located near the Nuangola exit of I-81N. New members are always welcome. Yearly membership dues are $20.00. The Kirby Library will have Leda’s Home Made Chocolate Easter Eggs for sale. The eggs are still $1.25 each and are available in milk and dark chocolate. Stop in at 35 Kirby Ave., to purchase directly or pick up an order form for Easter delivery. Orders must be in by Tuesday, March 8 and payment is required with the order. The Rice Elementary PTA will host their monthly meeting on Tuesday March 8th at 6:00 p. m. in the school’s library. All parents, grandparents, and guardians are encouraged to attend the meeting to learn about the upcoming events at the school. Babysitting will be available. Stairville United Methodist Church, Stairville Road, Mountaintop, will hold fresh fried Haddock Dinner on March 11. Take-outs begin at 4 p. m. Dinner is at 5 p. m. The cost is $10 per person. Menu features fish, baked or French fried potatoes, green beans, coleslaw, dessert and a beverage.
