SCOUTS ATTEND POLAR BOY CAMP-Troop #434 Boy Scouts, chartered from Emmanual United Church of Christ, Dorrance, slept outside and participated in this year’s Polar Bear night outside in a tent and scout challenges at Camp Acheala, Blakeslee. The Troop stayed outside in freezing temperatures with their tents on February 12, 2016. On Saturday February 13; the scouts from different troops go from station to station; all 13 stations are there to challenge their scout winter safety skills, fire building, first aid and many more. Our troop 434 had two snow sled teams with 5 scouts. Two Webelos II’s from Pack #106 Mountaintop also helped oversee their first Polar Bear. The one team won 2nd place out of 20 teams! We are very proud of each and every one of the scouts and also the 5 Troop #434 adult leaders who weathered the strong winds and frigid temps to stay outside in tents and win too. If you are interested in joining a local scout troop, please feel free to call. Mary Fisher, 570-868-6205; member ship chair. Troop 434, Dorrance-we meet across from Andys Gas station, EUCC.
