Holy Redeemer High School seniors Alexia Mazzarella and Nathan Morgan recently coordinated a coat drive at the school to collect winter coats for the St. Vincent DePaul Clothes Outlet.
Through a competition at Holy Redeemer and in conjunction with students at Wyoming Area Catholic School, over 350 coats for adults and children were collected.
Collection boxes were placed at Holy Redeemer, and a competition among the grades as to which could donate the most coats netted almost 300 coats. The senior class won the competition and an Auntie Anne’s pretzel party.
Over 75 coats were then donated by Wyoming Area Catholic’s Builder’s Club, and the coats were taken to St. Vincent DePaul’s in Wilkes-Barre in time for the cold weather.
