Wilbur L. Bloss, 93, Hobbie, died Monday, Feb. 8, 2016, at Smith Health Care, Mountain Top, where he had been a guest the past four months.

Born on Dec. 22, 1922, he was the only child of the late Lyman D. and Alice F. (Hoch) Bloss. He attended school at the Good School, one-room schoolhouse. Wilbur owned and operated his truck and dairy farm on St. Mary’s road for over 50 years.

In his younger years, he served as fire policeman for Hobbie Volunteer Fire Company.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Emily R. (Rinehimer) Bloss, in 2009, and son-in-law, Harry Berkheiser, in 2007.

He will be greatly missed by his daughter, June E. Berkheiser, Succasunna, New Jersey; son, Barry W. Bloss and wife, Diane, Hobbie; grandchildren, Kelley A. Berkheiser and fiance, Frank Corso, Bronxville, New York; Jeff Bloss, Hobbie; Justin Bloss and wife, Katie, Shickshinny; and great-grandson, Aiden Bloss.
