Jami Lorrain Sniegowski, 39, 342 Mountain Rd., Albrightsville, PA, has been charged with Retail Theft. Charges were filed by Officer Joshua Deets of the Wright Township Police Department on January 20, 2016.
According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, police were dispatched to Weis Markets where Loss Prevention had a female in custody for retail theft.
Loss Prevention stated that they had observed the Defendant concealing items in her purse and proceeding to the self checkout counters. Loss Prevention stated that they observed the Defendant check out and pay for several items in her cart but did not ring a bottle of Trade Winds Iced Tea and a pack of hot dogs that were in the cart. Loss Prevention stated that the Defendant then proceeded to the front vestibule of the store, placed the pack of hot dogs into a bag with items that were paid for, then walked out of the front door of the store, passing all points of sale making no attempt to pay for the ice tea, hot dogs or items concealed in her purse.
After exiting the store, the Defendant was approached by Loss Prevention and escorted to the Loss Prevention office. Loss Prevention discovered one Wholesome Sweetener, one Fresh Express, one Ken’s Honey Dijon, one Kraft Lt. Cheese and one Petro 5” Piggy Twists concealed in the Defendant’s purse. The total value of the items was $26.91.
A Preliminary Hearing has been scheduled February 17, 2016 at 10:30 a. m. before Magisterial District Judge Ronald Swank.
