Theodore “Ted” Brush
Korean War Veteran

Theodore “Ted” Arthur Brush, 84, Mountain Top, died Jan. 25, 2016, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township, surrounded by family.

He was born June 4, 1931, in Mountain Top, son of the late Gustave and Avis (Morrison) Brush. He graduated from Fairview High School in 1949 and held class offices of president as a freshman, treasurer as a junior and vice president as a senior.

Theodore was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U. S. Army.

He owned and operated Mountain Mobile Sales and Service Station, Mountain Top, with his uncle, John Morrison, from 1961 to 1968. He worked at CertainTeed in Mountain Top from 1968 to his retirement in 1993.

He was a member of the American Legion, the United Auto Workers, Preservers of the Past, Mountain Top Historical Society, the Corsa Corvair Society of America, and he was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the National Rifle Association.

He was a very loving and devoted family man. He loved picnics and family gatherings at the homestead farm. He enjoyed farming, tractors, gardening, Corvairs, restoring old tractors, hunting, snowmobiling, bird watching, baking -specializing in cheesecakes, and he was a fan of boxing.

Theodore is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carol Ann (Thomas) Brush; son, Theodore Brush and wife, Dorothy, Mountain Top; son, Matthew Brush, Mountain Top; daughter, Jamie Rinehamer, Ashley; daughter, Barbara Hannah, New Jersey; daughter, Karen Jones and husband, Craig, White Haven; daughter, Judy Brush, Nanticoke; grandchildren, Brian Schwartz, Lisa Brush, Rebecca Evans, Zachary Jones, Sarah Rinehamer, Theodore Michael Brush, E. J. Hannah, Jacelyn Hannah and Michael Hannah; great-grandchildren, Andy, Autumn and Kaylee; sister, Marion Hummel, Cherryville; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held from Desiderio Funeral Home, 436 S. Mountain Blvd., Mountain Top.

Interment followed in Dorrance Cemetery, Dorrance.
