Women Of Presbyterian Church Collecting Clothing, Appliances For Ruth’s Place

Presbyterian Church of Mountain Top, 9 Chestnut Street, just off North Main St., schedules Worship Service at 11 a. m. Sunday School begins at 9:30 a. m.

You are invited to worship Sunday, February 7. Pastor Shanley will present a Bible based lesson on Transfiguration in preparation of the Lenten season.

There is a children’s talk before the sermon, after which children up to 6th grade are invited to the Sunday School rooms for Children’s Church.

The annual SOUPER BOWL collection will be received following the service. Thousands on dollars are spent each year on food and drinks to be enjoyed while watching the Super Bowl, while many people struggle to put food on the table to feed the family. Lets donate a portion of this “snack” money to feed the poor. Monetary donations will be given to the Mountain Top Food Bank.

The Deacons will hold their monthly meeting immediately following the service.

Please continue to donate your food items weekly to be given to the Mountain Top food bank. Bins are located at the rear of the Sanctuary. The need is great for packaged items, mayonnaise, coffee and sugar.

The next meeting of the Presbyterian Women will be held Feb 3, at 10:00 a. m. at the church. Plans will be made concerning the upcoming Chile sale, and the Bible Study will be Max Lucado’s take on JOB from his book Cast of Characters. After the meeting the women will have lunch at a local restaurant.

The women are collecting lightly used clothing and small appliances for the residents of Ruth’s Place.

Pastor Shanley’s Bible Class will be meeting on Ash Wednesday at 7:00 p. m. The group will go deeper into the scripture as they look forward to Lent.

Reminder: The Choir practices every Thursday at 7:00 p. m. If you are interested in joining this awesome Ministry of Music under the direction of the very talented Bill Blannett you are invited.
