experience as an Authority member from 2008 to 2012. He was quickly appointed on a motion by Mark Gandzyk seconded by Ron Kaiser, opposed by Plodwick and Lauer.
A vacancy on the planning commission was filled with the appointment of Laurie Selecky by unanimous vote.
Tucker then raised a personnel matter announcing that they are unable to find anyone willing to work for the borough at $12 per hour as needed for plowing. He said that he had interviews and was contacted by 2 applicants withdrawing their application. “The last time it got slick, I was out there and I’m not going to do that.”
The objection from the candidates, Tucker explained, was that they want more money. A discussion followed regarding hiring a contractor, but there was concern that a contractor would not necessarily be available when needed.
Eventually, Gandzyk made a successful motion to advertise for an as needed employee at a rate of $15 per hour.
The regular municipal meeting was held Tuesday, January 12th at 7 pm.
