Misericordia University Math Department Hosts 6th Annual Mathematic Symposium

The Department of Mathematics at Misericordia University recently hosted the 6th Annual Luzerne and Lackawanna Counties Mathematics Symposium on campus.

The symposium was coordinated by Mountaintop resident Steven Tedford, Ph. D., associate professor of mathematics, Misericordia University, and featured scholars from local colleges and universities who offered presentations on a variety of topics in both research and teaching.

The presenters included Sofya Chepushtanova, Ph. D., assistant professor of mathematics, Wilkes University; Steven Dougherty, Ph. D., professor of mathematics, University of Scranton; Michael W Ecker, Ph. D., associate professor of mathematics, Penn State Wilkes-Barre; Karen McCready, Ph. D., King’s College; Bagisa Mukherjee, Ph. D., associate professor of mathematics, Penn State Worthington Scranton, and Rivka Win, Ph. D., assistant professor of mathematics, and Zaixin Lu, Ph. D., assistant professor of computer science, Marywood University.
