Donald C. Binder, 87, White Haven, died Nov. 30, 2015, at the Celtic Hospice Inpatient Unit at Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Westfield, Massachusetts, he was a son of the late Charles and Doris (Burns) Binder.
Prior to retiring, he was employed in quality control at the Desota Corp., of West Hazleton. Donald was a member of the Mountain Top Baptist Church, a graduate of the Ebenezer Bible Group, Plymouth, and taught adult bible classes. He was also a member of the Pocono Writers Guild. He was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed painting a great deal.
Surviving are his wife, the former Doris Lombra, at home; a son, Daryl Binder and wife, Linda, Weatherly; daughters, Darcey Birkenstock and husband, Edward, Taylors, South Carolina, Kimberly Wood, White Haven; a brother, Robert Binder and wife, Etta, Belzer, South Carolina, sisters, Elaine Hill, Florida, and Janise Phillips and husband, Sherman, Spokane, Washington. Also surviving are grandchildren, Hesper Pierce and husband, Joseph, Brenna Osborn and husband, Geoffrey, Joseph Birkenstock and wife, Jana, Jamie Watkins and husband, Andrew, Katie Keith and husband, Ryan, Ryan Binder and wife, Sandra, Matthew Wood and wife, Malissa, Joseph Wood and wife, Ashlee, Audrey Wood; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
