St. Jude’s Giving Tree Gifts Due December 6

The Giving Tree, which remembers shut-ins and the less fortunate of the community at Christmas, has many tags requesting gifts and plants. Parishioners are asked to select a tag from the tree, purchase the gift, wrap it (unless otherwise stated) and then label the gift with the same tag. The white angel tags, the white snowman tags, the gingerbread, and the food gift certificates request that the gifts be unwrapped. Please cover all plants to protect them from the cold. To ensure that the agencies and families receive their gifts on time, all gifts must be placed under the tree by Sunday, December 6. The Parish Center will be closed on Thursday, November 26 and Friday, November 27 in observance of Thanksgiving. The office will reopen on Monday, November 30 at 9 a. m.

St. Jude Parish will celebrate Mass at 9 a. m. on Thanksgiving morning, November 26. All are invited to come and give thanks for God’s many blessings.

Religious education classes will not be held November 29/30. Classes resume December 6/7.

St. Mary’s in Dorrance will hold a blood drive on Sunday, November 29 from 8:30 a. m. until 1:30 p. m. Schedule your appointment by calling 1-800-RedCross. be sure to bring photo ID.

The next Caring Kids Club is December 2 at 4:15 in the school cafeteria. They will be making rosary bracelets for the Smith Nursing Home in Mountain Top. Donations of pony beads are needed and may be dropped off at the Parish Center.

The Kids Club is also planning a caroling night at the Smith Nursing Home on December 9 at 5:30 p. m. Contact Mrs. Grandzol at the Parish Center for further information.

Breakfast with Santa will be held Saturday, December 5 from 9 a. m. until noon in the school cafeteria. Breakfast includes pancakes, eggs, sausage, hash browns, juice, cocoa, and coffee. Tickets are $10 which includes a personalized Christmas ornament. There will also be children’s crafts, holiday music, and a holiday basket raffle. Professional photos with Santa will be $5.00. Women of the parish are invited to Advent by Candlelight. This Advent journey will feature an evening of fellowship, spiritual reflection, desserts, and beautiful table settings. It will be held Friday, December 11 from 6:30 p. m. until 8:00 p. m. in the school cafeteria. Terry Tokach, founder of Mountain Yoga, will present the Advent reflection. The Social Action Committee is collecting Pack-N-Plays, baby swings, high chairs, bath tubs, gates, and clothes up to 2 years old for Pennsylvanians for Human Life. No other items can be accepted. Anyone who would like to donate is asked to contact the Parish Center ext. 250 to arrange for pick up.

Weekday Masses at St. Jude’s are Monday through Friday at 7 a. m. and Wednesday at 12:10 p. m. Weekday Masses at St. Mary’s are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday at 8 a. m. Saturday Vigil Masses are 4 p. m. at St. Jude’s and 5:30 p. m. at St. Mary’s. Sunday Masses are 7:30 a. m., 9 a. m., 10:30 a. m. and noon at St. Jude’s and 9 a. m. at St. Mary’s.
